Full-grain calfskin upper, vegetable-tanned and hand-burnished to a deep, layered brown. The brogueing is hand-perforated — the holes are stamped one at a time on a press, which is why the spacing reads even but never machine-perfect. Goodyear-welted construction: the upper, insole, and welt are stitched together in a way that allows the shoe to be re-soled without disturbing the body. Stacked leather heel, leather sole with a small rubber pad at the heel breast. Cushioned leather insole that moulds with wear. Built in our Pune atelier. Care Brush after wear with a soft horsehair brush. Condition every two months with a neutral or slightly tinted leather cream worked in with a cloth, then buffed dry. Polish with a matching wax three or four times a year for depth. Use shoe trees overnight — they're not optional on welted shoes. Re-sole when the leather wears through; the upper is built for it.
