Care Brush after wear with a soft horsehair brush. Condition every two months with a neutral or walnut-tinted leather cream worked in with a cloth and buffed dry. Polish with a matching wax for depth, especially across the vamp where the burnishing lives. The footbed is exposed at the heel, so wipe it with a slightly damp cloth more often than a closed shoe. Full-grain walnut-brown leather upper, vegetable-tanned and hand-burnished. The walnut is built up in stages — base dye, edge dressing, hand-burnishing across the vamp — which is why the colour reads with depth rather than flatness. Gold horsebit buckle, screw-fitted to a leather backing. Blake hand-welted construction with a stitched leather sole and a stacked leather heel. The Blake stitch holds the upper directly to the sole, giving the mule a slim profile — closer to a formal shoe than a sandal. Padded leather insole. The open heel is reinforced with a leather counter that holds the shape — most mules collapse at the heel within a year; this one doesn't. Made in our Pune workshop.
