Condition every two months with a neutral or cherry-tinted leather cream worked into the smooth body with a cloth, and into the croco panel with the fingers (cloth skips over the texture). Full-grain calf leather body, vegetable-tanned and dyed cherry brown through the hide. Hand-burnished at the toe and heel — the colour reads layered rather than flat. The vamp panel is croco-embossed under heat in the same cherry tone; the texture is pressed into the leather, not printed on top, so it stays consistent through years of wear and conditioning. Blake hand-welted construction with a stitched leather sole and a stacked leather heel. Padded leather insole. Two-texture shoes are more demanding to finish than single-texture ones — the smooth body and the croco panel respond differently to conditioning and polish, so each panel is finished separately.
