Full-grain calf leather upper, vegetable-tanned and dyed black through the hide. The leather is hand-burnished at the toe and heel for depth — the black reads layered rather than flat. Hand-stitched seams along the vamp. Hand-welted construction with a stitched leather sole, stacked leather heel, thin rubber pad at the heel breast. Solid brass buckle hand-aged to a warm finish. Built in our Pune workshop on a sharper last than the standard monk range. The shape is less forgiving — every panel has to be cut and shaped precisely or the silhouette doesn't sit right.

Care Brush after wear with a soft horsehair brush. Condition every two months with a black or neutral leather cream worked in with a cloth and buffed dry. Polish with black wax for depth, particularly at the toe and heel. Use shoe trees overnight to hold the sharper shape. Keep the buckle clean with a dry cloth; avoid metal polish.
