Full-grain calf leather upper, dyed black through the hide. The braided saddle band is woven from leather strips cut from the same hide — colour-matched at the source rather than dyed to match later. Hand-welted construction with a stitched leather sole and a stacked leather heel. Padded leather insole. The braid is hand-stitched into the saddle, not glued — it carries tension through stitching, which is why it doesn't loosen with wear. Built in our Pune workshop. The braid alone is a half-day of work per pair before the rest of the shoe begins.

Care Brush after wear with a soft horsehair brush, working gently into the braid to lift dust without pulling at strips. Condition every two months with a black or neutral leather cream applied with the fingers around the braid — heavy cloth pulls at the strips. Polish with black wax for depth across the smooth panels.
