Full-grain calf leather upper, vegetable-tanned and dyed black. Hand-burnished at the toe and heel for depth — the black reads layered rather than flat. Hand-welted construction with a stitched leather sole, stacked leather heel, thin rubber pad at the heel breast. Padded leather insole. The penny strap is hand-stitched and shaped, not flat-cut. Built in our Pune workshop on a sharper last than the standard loafer range. A plain loafer is unforgiving — every panel has to read smooth, every stitch has to be even, the proportions have to be right.

Care Brush after wear with a soft horsehair brush. Condition every two months with a black or neutral leather cream, worked in with a cloth and buffed dry. Polish with black wax three or four times a year for depth. Use shoe trees overnight; the sharper last benefits from them. Avoid heavy rain — water can dull the hand-burnished finish.
