Care Brush after wear with a soft horsehair brush, working into the pebble grain to lift dust before it settles. Condition every two months with a neutral or navy-tinted leather cream — work it in with a cloth, leave it ten minutes, buff dry. Polish with a matching wax for depth two or three times a year. Use shoe trees overnight to hold the loafer's shape (loafers lose shape faster than laced shoes if untreed). Re-sole when the leather wears through. Delivery Made to order. Full-grain calf leather upper, vegetable-tanned and dyed midnight blue through the hide. The pebble grain is pressed into the leather under heat — not printed on top — which is why it stays consistent through years of wear and conditioning. Pebble grain has a useful side effect on a loafer: it resists creasing and disguises minor scuffs, which a smooth calf leather doesn't. Blake-stitched construction: the upper is stitched directly to the sole, giving a slim, low-profile silhouette and a closer fit underfoot than a Goodyear welt. Stacked leather heel with a thin rubber pad. The penny saddle and apron seam are hand-stitched in tonal thread — the stitching is the visual focal point of the upper, so it has to be even. Made in our Pune workshop. Midnight blue is one of the harder tones to dye consistently — sits between navy and black, and either side reads wrong. Each pair is checked at the cutting bench for tone match across the panels.
