Story

The Peshawari is a traditional Indian sandal — hand-woven leather across the vamp, open heel, leather sole.

The style has roots in the North-West frontier and has stayed essentially unchanged for a century. We've preserved the traditional construction: hand-woven leather, hand-welted leather sole, no metal hardware, no synthetic anywhere.

Worn with kurta or denim, around the house or out of it. Made in our Pune atelier by craftsmen who've been making this style for decades.

Craft
Full-grain buffalo leather upper, hand-woven across the vamp in the traditional Peshawari pattern. The weave isn't decorative — it's structural; the strap holds tension across the foot through the weave itself. Hand-welted leather sole, edge-burnished. Cushioned leather insole that moulds to the foot within a few wears. The heel cup is shaped, not flat — small detail, significant difference for walking. Made in Pune. The Peshawari weaving is the oldest craft skill in the workshop.
Care & Delivery
Care Brush after wear with a soft horsehair brush, working into the weave gently. Condition every couple of months with a neutral leather cream — vegetable-tanned leather drinks conditioner. Avoid water; if caught in rain, dry slowly at room temperature, never with heat. Store flat. The leather will darken with wear — this is the leather working as it should. Delivery Made to order.
